Welcome to Ingjald Pilskog's homepage
I am currently working as a postdoctoral fellow at Uni Research Climate on the ORGANIC project. My role here is to implement the matrix-free Newton-Krylov method to speed up the spin-up time of the biochemical processes in the oceans in the Norwegian Earth System model, NorESM.
I have a joint Ph.D. degree in theoretical atomic physics and physical chemistry from Université Pierre et Marie Curie (UPMC) and Universitetet of Bergen (UiB), where I was part of Le Laboratoire de Chimie Physique - Matière et Rayonnement (LCPMR) and the Department of Physics and Technology (IFT), respectively. The title of my thesis is «A theoretical study of the response in atomic and molecular systems to time-dependent external fields».
During the spring 2012 I was a Marie Curie Fellow at Centro Atomico in San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina. From January 2013 until December 2015, I had a postdoctoral fellowship at Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters with support from VISTA, a collaboration between the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters and Statoil. VISTA's overall vision is to stimulate basic mathematical and scientific research related to the exploitation and management of Norway's petroleum resources. I had my workplace at the Department of Earth Science, UoB, during the fellowship.
